MEAT TRADE SLOW.
The Bank of New Zealand, Produce Department, has received the following advice from its London offics as at close of business last week:—Frozen meat: The market is well supplied with wether mutton and trade is very slow. Ewes are weaker owing to lack of demand. It is thought that prices for lamb will remain steady. Smaller supplies of beef have caused prices to harden. Wethers, light 6d to 694 d per lb, heavy 5V4d to 6d; ewes 4d to 4%d; lambs, 2's 8d to B%d, S's 7%d to Bd, 4's 7%d to 7%d, seconds 7d to 7%d; ox hinds s&d to 6d, fores 4Kd to 4%d; cow Hinds 5d to 5%d, fores 3%d to 4d.
The New Zealand Meat Producers' Board has been advised by its London manager that the following retail prices are being quoted for New Zealand lamb and mutton retailed in London on Ist November:—Lamb: Legs 14d, shoulders 13d, loins 12d, necks 7d, breasts 4'd. Mutton (wether): Legs lOVkl, shoulders lOd loins lod, necks 6d, breasts 3d. .
