Messrs. Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London agents, dated 15th November:—Frozen meat quotations (prices on a "delivered" basis,' i>e., including storage charges, cartage, market tolls, etc.): North. Island Down and crossbred lambs, no quotations; North Island, second quality lambs, average 30/31 7 l-8d; best North Island wether sheep under 481b 6 5-Sd, 48/56 6%d, 56/64 6%d, 64/72 5 7-8 d; North Island ewes, under 48 4%d, 48/56 4%d. 56/64 4V4d, 64/72 4 l-Bd. New Zealand prime ox beef, none offering. As compared with last week's quotations, best North Island wethers, under 481b and 64/72's are l-8d per lb lower. Other quotations unchanged. There is no change in the lamb market oi any importance, excepting for North Island prime lambs Bs, which are selling better on account of their choice condition.
The New Zealand Meat Producers' Board I has received the following cable from its London office, dated 15th November, 1929, advising Smithfield delivered prices averaged for week ending that date as with any movements in prices on the week shown in parentheses:—New Zealand wethers and maidens: Canterbury quality, selected brands, 56 and under 6%d, 57/64 6%d, 65/72 5 7-8 d (down l-8d); other brands, 56 and under 6%d, 57/64 6d, 65/72 59id. New Zealand ewes: 64 and under 4%d. New. Zealand lambs. Canterbury quality. 36 arid under B%d, 37/42 7 7-Bd, 43/50 7%, seconds 7d; selected brands, 36 and under B%d, 37/42 7%d: other brands, first quality, 36 and under 7%d, 37/42 7%d; second quality, 3/32 average 7d (down l-8d). Australian lambs (new seasons's): Victorian, first quality, 36 and under B%d, 37/42 Bd. Argentine lambs (new season's): First, quality, 36 and under 7%d, 37/42 7%d. New Zealand beef, not quoted. Argentine chilled beef: Ox, fores 4 7-Bd, hinds 7%d (up Vii). Australian frozen beef: Ox, crops over 1001b 4%d (up l-8d), hinds over 1601b 6 l-Bd(up l-8d). New Zealand frozen pork: Porkers, 60/801b 9%d, 81/991b 9%d, 100/1201b 9%d; baconers, 221/lSOlb, not quoted. Frozen veal, not quoted. Lamb: Market unchanged. Mutton: Market remains dull for wethers; little better inquiry for ewes. New Zealand -porker pig 3: Market is steady, with good demand.
