Starring Jeanne Eagels.'ssupported by O P Beggle and Reginald Owen, "The Letter,"" an all-talking screen version of tho dramatic Somerset Maugham play, will bo shown finally to-night at the Regent Theatre. The story concerns Leslie Crosbie and her husband Robert apparently a happily-married couple who live on a- rubber plantation in Singapore. One £« «„? i" h e°e? lnto the city on business, and^ Leslie at once sends a letter to Geoffrey Hammond, a dissipated bachelor on a neighbouring plantation. The arrival of the letter Interrupts a lovo scene between Hammond and a Chinese woman. Hammond Immediately goes to the Crosbie bungalow where £f« n ii. i c Jealous Leslie, who has ni » lOTe slth5 lth hlm- What £ollows concerns the letter, and exciting and dramatic incidents crowd thick to an unusual climax. The acting of the principals adds to the dramatic intensity of^tne story.
