SUNDAY SCHOOL UNION
Ihe monhly meeting of the. committee of the Sunday School Union was held last evening. Mr. W. B. Howe, president, was m the chair, and there was a good attendance ihe president referred to the death of Mr. Randall Huffanv who, up to the time of his illness, had been a most; valued, member of' the committee, who i could always be relied on to carry out cheerfully and energetically the task asked oi him. The members stood ia silence for a moment. It was announced ■tttat one of the extension schools had sent ±2 to help the .extension work, and one of the city schools had sent £1 10s ""■•the same purpose. The secretary reported that correspondence was still being conducted with the Blenheim friends in regard to next year's convention, but that local difficulties might make it impossible for them to invite the union to go there next Easter. Votes of thanks were accorded to Mr. and Mrs. Howe and the secretary for their work in connection with' the recent "rally." It was decided to send a letter, to St. David's School, Petone, congratulating it on the fine attendance of the scholars at the rally practices and at the rally.
