AWARD TO GERMAN AUTHOR

(Received 13th November, 11 a.m.) STOCKHOLM, 12th Nov. The Nobel Prize for Literature has been awarded to Thomas Mann, the well-known German author.

Dr. Mann was born in 1875, and is a representative German author. Among his best known works are "Der Kleine Herr," "Friedeman," "Tristan," "Der Tod in Venedig" (short stories), "Buddenbrocks," "Koniglichd Hoheit," and "Der Zauberberg" (novels), and a number of volumes of essays and a play, "Fiorenza."
