SHIPWRECKED CREW

ROCKET LINE AND BREECHES BUOY

(Received 13th November, 10 a.m.) LONDON, 12th November. A thrilling rescue by means of a life line was accomplished in the early morning by the Newhaven Coastguards. . The Italian 3870-ton steamer Nimbo ran aground in a heavy gale between Brighton and Newhaven, and was seriously holed. Tremendous seas prevented the lifeboat from .approaching. The Coastguards fired a rocket line and found the mark the first time. Twenty-one of the crew were brought ashore by breeches buoys. The captain and eight remain aboard.
