LONDON, 12th November.

In the House of Commons Mr. Tom. Shaw, Secretary for War, in answer to a question, said that provision existed for increasing the Alctoria Cross pensions to £75, in6lusive of other pensions, where recipients were unable to earn a livelihood by reason of age or inedi« cal infirmity.

Colonel Lambert-Ward: "Then there is a means test."

Mr. Shaw: "The practice of the last, few years implies a question, o^ means."
