WEDDINGS
A wedding took place at St.' James's Church, Lower Hutt, recently, when Glady May, eldest daughtor of Mr. and Mrs. W. Morrison, was married to Herbert John, fifth son of Mrs. Exton and the late Mr. I". Exton, of Upper lUccarton, Cliristchurch. Archdeacon Hansoll officiated, arid Miss Harte was at tho organ. ' Tho bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a handsome frock, made in Early Victorian stylo, of whito inurietto over pale pink crepe de chine. The flared skirt was of narrow frills, the bodice being plain with long sleoves -pointod over the hands. Her beautiful embroidered tulle veil (a gift from a friend) was held in placo with two silver bands over,the head and a cluster of orango blossoms on each side. Suo curriecLa bouquet of carnations, roses, s\veo»J>eas, and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids were . Misses Jean Arkle (chief), wearing a dainty frock of apple green georgette and gold lace, the full flared skirt falling in four peaks; and Lou Morrison, who wore a frock of similar style in daffodil yellow. Their headdresses consisted of two bands interlaced with narrow gold ribbon, and finished at one side with a gold rose to match their frocks. Little Juno Morrison wore a dainty frock of coral pink georgette, tho skirt being frilled and linished at the.waist with a posy; her headdress was a band of tulle, finished at the side with a large bow, and she carried a gold basket of Icela||d poppies to match her frock. Mr. W. Smith was best man, and Mr. E. Exton groomsman. Mrs. W. Morrison (mother of tho bride) wore a handsome frock of black georgette and fawn lace, oinbroidered with pastel flowers, and a hat to tone, and carried a bouquet of cyclamen, hyacinths, and maidenhair fern. Mrs. E. L. Morrison (grandmother of, the bride) was in a handsome black satin frock, and carried ,a bouquet of violets and anemones. Mrs. Exton (mother of tho bridegroom) chose a smart black satin frock and figured satin coat finished with fur cuffs and collar, and carried a bouquet of scarlet anemones and primroses. After tho ceremony a reception was held in The Lounge, which was beautifully decorated with streamers and spring flowers. Mr. and Mrs. Morrison and Mrs. Exton received about l<lo guests. Mr. and Mrs. Exton left later for their future homo in Chiistehureh, the bride wearing a frock of beech-nut brown crepe de chine, trimmed with fawn, a dainty, hat to tone, and handsome coat of broadtail with opossum collar .and cuffs.
