The anticyclone has moved further eastwards, and Is now centred beyond the Chatham Islands. Pressure has fallen over New Zealand, only slightly In the North, hut moro decidedly In Southern parts owing to tho approach of the front of :i rather deep depression. The latter has caused north-west winds to freshen south of New Plymouth and Castlepoint, while a disturbance north of New Zealand has been responsible for strom: easterlies over the northern portion of the North Island. The weather has become unsettled In northern districts with rain at places, but elsewhere, except for.an Increase In cloud on the West Coast of the South Island, fair to flno and warm weather lias been maintained.
