RONGOTAI COLLEGE
A large number of young people as well as members of the Parents' Association and representatives of the Ladies' Auxiliary, assembled at Eongotai College on Saturday afternoon 011 the opening day of the Te Kama Tennis Club. The principal (Mr. F. Martyn Renner), in the course of his opening address, stressed the value of the new club as an additional.link between the boys of the school on the one hand and the old boys and parents on the other. So far no old boys' association had been formed, and it would not be formed until the boys that had left the school had gained in age and experience: but the Tennis Club which they were officially opening that day would serve a useful purpose in keeping together past pupils of the school and bringing them into contact with a Parents' Association that had done so much 'for the school. Mr. Eenner ' gave a history of the building of the courts, and took the opportunity of thanking the Minister and the Department, as well as the association, for making it possible to construct the courts in so short a time. In. conclusion he wished the club every success. Mr. J. Gellatly, secretary of the club; thanked Mr. and Mrs. Eenner for their attendance and apologised for the absence of Lieut.-Colonel H. E.
