VICE-REGAL TOUR

(Special to "The Evening Post.")

NELSON, This Day. The Governor-General and Lady Alico Fergusson were favoured with a brilliantly fine- Nelson day for the commencement of their farewell visit to the city. . The Children's Gala was a great success. Trains, buses, and lorries emptied children into the town all the morning, until they numbered over 3000. They were entertained at Jones's Amusement Park until 1.30 p.m., when they marched through the city streets to the Botanical Reserve, accompanied by seven bands. The afternoon's programme included dance displays, drills, eompel*tions, and a march past. Their EseelJlncies went to the ground early and stayed to the end, until nearly every school had started homewards.
