Aiter being cowed" by the warders, he was locked in a padded cell. The murdered man was Walter Hunter. Hearing cries of agony, the warders rushed to the cell and- found a man brandishing a knife dripping with blood. He was awaitingtrial on a charge of wounding. The two prisoners were in the kitchen peek ing potatoes when the attack occurred.
