MEDITERRANEAN STYLE

(From "The Post's" Representative.) SYDNEY, 26th September. Domestic architecture in Sydney is finding more individualistic expression every day.

The latest is a proposed garden area, with homes in picturesque Mediterranean style, adapted to Australian conditions. Along the latest modern townplanning lines, this little bit of suburbia will take the place of two of Sydney's oldest and best-known homes, with their big acreage of grounds, in the more exclusive section of tho suburb of Strathfleld.

One of these homes, Milroy, was for many years the residence of one of the State's most generous benefactors, the late Mr. o.l\ Todraan, of tobacco fame. These are only two of many of Sydney's mansions and properties, which are being subdivided either for flats or for ordinary residential areas.

Darling Point is only one example of tho modern, trend. Honeycombed today with flats, it was, only a year or two ago, aristocracy's exclusive domain in Sydney.
