REVOLT OF YOUTH
(To the Editor.) Sir, —Jfay I have space in your paper ' to express a few thoughts as a result oJ that article in last night's "Post" under the above heading? The Rev. Mr. Burnt gives 'as a reason for youth's revolt the last war, fought over eleven years ago. He also speaks of the motor craze and blaming it for the change in the keeping of the Sabbath. He.closes with the idea thift there is an increase in interest in religiob But he does not in that article relate £5 two points together. There is an increase in religion and yet not in the Church. Why? The first question the Church' should ask itself is this: is it not that ih* fault may lie with the church itself? It im no use blamiug external attractions if the fault lies within. The Church, if it was doing its duty to- the community, giving the people religion, it would have noj fear of external attractions rivalling it for its place in the community. Until "ths ' Church loses its Senominationaliem it will not play the part it should in the Ufa of the community. To show what I mean: why is it that in a small town, where one church can cater for the needs of the town, we find three, four, and even more sects, each with its handful of members, trying to rival all the others? Until the Church gives the people exclusively religion and no denominational rivalryj it will not play its allotted role in thecommunity. At present it makes no vital difference what sect one belongs to, they all appear much the same, and yet they all still maintain their rivalries. Tha community is asking: Where is religion! It it is not in the Church, where can we nnd it? This is one reason why the Church should look to itself in order to nnd tue reason for the revolt of youth.— I am, etc., , ,_ INTROSPECTION.
