PERFECT WEATHER
BUT NOT FOR MUCH LONGER
The extensive anti-cyclone covoring New Zoaland has boon responsible for beautiful and spring-like weather during the week-end. Most districts have had fair to fine weather, but Wostland had some light showers on Saturday. Northerly winds have predominated over the South Island, being fresh on Saturday in places in and south of Cook Strait. To-day Puysegur Point roports a northerly gale. Over the North Maud -winds have been -more variable, easterlies predominating. In the far north iresh to strong winds have been experienced owing to the presence north of Norfolk Island o.t a cyclone. Pressure is still high over Now Zealand, although the anti-cyclono as gradually jnqving away eastward. In the wake of the- anti-cyclone is a deep depression, and as this advances towards New Zealand from over tho Tasman tho weather is likely to become less settled. In the meantime north of Kawhia and Eaßt Cape moderate to strong easterly winds, which may reach gale force at times, are likely to be experienced, with freshening aortherlies elsewhere. Mainly fair weather should continue at present, but in the extreme north and south loss settled weather with rain developing may be expected. Elsewhere cloud will increase for a change to less sottled conditions within the next few days. Temperatures will remain warm.
