"PAGEANT OF YOUTH."
Appropriate to the warmer spring days will be the "Pageant of Youth," the outdoor display and entertainment now being organised by the members of the Y.JI.C.A. Gymnasium, and to take-place in the Kllbirnie Stadium on Saturday next, at 3 p.m. The programme will include ceremonial marches, including a reproduction of the opening scene in the last Olympic Games, a march past competition by the Royal Life Saving Clubs, and a similar eTent by teams of ladles from Messrs. Kirkcaldie and Stains and Wellington Woollen Co. There will be an old English setting of Maypole dancing and minuet, a Gipsy dance, and Morris dancing. Among the skilled gymnastic events there will be "acrobatics" by teams of ladies, and hori-. zontal and parallel bar events by expert gymnasts. Hundreds of young men and women, and boys and girls will take part in tho massed work, including spectacular pyramids, hoop and rod evolutions, flag, club, and sphere swinging drill. Humour will be provided by Les Warner and his team of four diminutive clowns. The Ist Battalion Regimental Band, under Lieut. Shardlow, will provide the music. The whole setting of the pageant and the twenty items on a diversified programme will provide the public with something new by way of entertainment.
