MARINE ENGINEERS
AN AGREEMENT REACHED
As the result of a conference hoW yesterday between representatives of . the coastal shipowners (other than the Union. Steam Ship Co., which has a separate agreement) and the Marine Engineers' Institute, an agreement was reached in regard to terms of employment of marine engineers. The new agreement, -which is for two years as from Ist November, is substantially similar to the old one- Re« presenting the shipowners were Captain* P. A. Peterson, H. Mnnro, arid S. HolmMessrs. W. H. G. Bennett, W. Rogers, aI J. Hodge, and,-K. M'Leay, Messrs. Ken; and Wallace, superintending engineers iot the Canterbury and Richardson companies,' also attended.
