SCOTTISH SABBATH

FLOUTING DEPRECATED

FREE CHURCH AND THE DUKE

United Press Association—By Electric Tele' graph—Copyright. Australian Press Association.

LONDON, loth August. The Commission of the Assembly of the Free Church of Scotland specially discussed the fact that the Duke and Duchess of York last Sunday attended an ambulance demonstration at Porfar and presented medals. The Eev. Mr. Fraser, of Govan, said he felt it keenly that two such well-beloveds should do such a thing. They ought to inform the Duke and Duchess that it was an insult to Scotland that should not be repeated. Ultimately the commission contented itself with a general resolution regretting the. continued flouting of the Sabbath and testifying that the Fourth Commandment did not permit of exceptions even among the great ones of the land.
