"SONG OF THE AGES."
The Aztec epic poem "The Song of the Ages" has just been translated into English for the first time by Mr. John H. Cornyn, professor of Aztec literature at the summer school of th<r National University of Mexico. This poem for centuries before the Spanish conquest was handed down by word of mouth. Between 1521 and 1530, Professor Cornyn'says, the poem was put into writing. . It was written in the Aztec language but with the ■ use of old Spanish, characters: It is in trochaic metre, and reads not unlike Longfellow's "Hiawatha." There are about 2000 lines, which describe the creation of the world, the deluge, and (he Garden of Men. ...
