POLICE RAID
CHARGES OF GAMBLING

lIAWERA, ISth July. Five men arrested as (he result of police raids on Saturday appeared ou remand before Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court this afternoon ou charges under the Gamins Act.
Thomas Henderson Teesdalc, a tearooms proprietor, who pleaded guilty to a charge of conducting a common gamine house, was fined £50. A charge against Teesdalc of carrying on business as a bookmaker was withdrawn.
