DISASTER IN YUN-NAN-FU

RUGBY, 16th July. News has reached London that an explosion of a powder magazine on Friday in the ancient walled city of Yuu-naur fu, the capital of the Province of Yunnan, in the extreme south-west of China, destroyed a large area of the city, including the, quarters of the British Consulate-General, which, with most of its contents, was entirely demolished. jNo information is available as to the number of casualties caused by the explosion, but it is understood that the Consul-General, Mr. Kirk, is not seriously hurt..
