TOO MUCH RAIN
It is curious that Canadian wheat crops should be now suffering from drought, as ten days ago it was cabled from Winnipeg that extremely warm weather in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and. Manitoba for a week had caused an appreciable deterioration of. the wheat chops. Most points report that rain was urgently needed. According, to the crop report of the Canadian wheat pool, wheat and coarse grains in three provinces were not so far advanced or as promising, compared with the corresponding period of 1928. It is proposed to place to the provident fund £5000. to general reserve £20.000, and carry forward £12,364.
