MESSAGE OF THANKS
HEARTFELT GRATITUDE
KING LOOKING WELL
British Official Wireless. (Eeceived 2nd July, 11 a.m.) BUGBY, Ist July. After their wonderful drive to Buck, inghani Palace through a mass of cheering humanity to-day the King came on to the balcony accompanied by the Queen and other members of the Eoya! Family. Their appearance was the occasion of another outburst of cheering from the great crowd, and this was redoubled when the King lifted hia small grandchild, Princess -Elizabeth, and held her in his arms while she waved to the people below. The King afterwards issufd a message, in which he said:— I wish lv express my Heartfelt gratitude for the affectionate and enthusiastic welcome I have received on returning after long months of illness to the Capital of my Empire. The general impression was that, considering the strain on his health, the King looked remarkably well, and ha was certainly gratified by the enthusiasm and affection shown by iho crowds. It is expected that Their Majesties will remain at Buckingham Palace for about a week before* proceeding to Sandringham, Norfolk, where they will staythroughout the summer.
