RUGBY, Ist July. Driving his British Sunbeam car at Brooklands to-day Kaye Don, the famous racing motorist, beat the world's record for a standing start mile at 100.77 miles an hour. Don also beat class G records as follows:—Standing start kilometres 85.71 miles per hour; flying start kilometre, 140.95 miles per hour; flying start mile 136.98 miles per hour. During the effort a swallow struck the mechanic in the face, and the bird was killed by the impact, but the mechanic -was not seriously hnrt. ,
