RUGBY, Ist July. At Wimbledon, to-day, H. W. Austin, the brilliant young Englishman, qualified for the semi-finals by defeating the seeded Hungarian player yon Kehrling in three straight sets. Coehet (France) beat Timme- (Holland). Tilden (America) beat Landry (France) and Borotra (France) beat Lott (America). In the semi-finals Anstin will meet Borotra and Tilden Coehet. In the fifth round of the women's singles Miss Wills (America) beat Miss Heine (South Africa), 6-2, 6-4. Miss Jacobs (America) beat Mrs. M'llquham (Britain), and Miss Goldsack (Britain) beat Miss Tapscott (South Africa).
