KARORI AFFAIRS
A meeting of the Karori Progressive Association was held in the old Council Chambers on Thursday, the president, Mr. VV. bimm, being in the chair. The annual report to be presented to members on Bth July was exhaustiveß' dealt with. This year has been a ver?active one for the association, and the record of routine and other matters which have received attention will, it is hope* give satisfaction to the members and the district generally. The sub-committee dealing with baths sul*scnptions reported that good progress had been made. Cash in hand and subscriptions promised already totalled about £130. With a more active campaign which will be commenced at a later date there is no doubt that the Karori residents will show the City Council they feel that bathing facilities are essential in a district so far away from the sea. Great concern was expressed at the overcrowded condition of the Karori School. It is hoped that the Government will see its way clear to approve of the grant which is necessary before the*extra. rooms approved by the Education Board can be erected.
