The choir of St. Thomas's Church recently gave a social to parishioners in St. Thomas's Hall. The first part of the programme consisted of musical and vocal pieces rendered by members of the choir. The soloists were Mrs. Shillson and Misses Christmas and Jackson, Messrs. H. Williams, Angus, and Masters M. Morgan and B. Woodham. Other contributors were: Mixed quartet, Misses Jackson and • Croll and Messrs. Toyhill and Williams; male quartet, Messrs. Watson, Angus, Foghill, and Sampson; violin solo, Miss W. Hall; recitation, Miss I. Faber. Mrs. atson presided at the piano. During the interval for tea the .vicar, on behalf of the parishioners, extended a very heart? welcome to. the organist and choir master, Mr. W. A; Gatheridge, and Mrs. Gathoridge, the former suitably replying. The rest of the evening was spent in competitions, games, and dancing. There was a large attendance, and all present thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

In the report of the annual meeting of the Petone branch of the Plunket Society it was" stated that those present were entertained at supper by the president, Mrs. Kirk. We are asked to state that the supper was provided by the society.
