THE VICTORIAN AMATEUR

The secretary of the New Zealand Golf Association has received programmes and entry forms from Australia for the Victorian amateur championship meeting, which is to be held on the Commonwealth Golf Club's links, Oakleigh, Melbourne, from 3rd to the 9th August, under the management of the Victorian Golf Association. There are only two events, the amateur championship of Victoria, open to amateurs whose handicap does not exceed 6. Two qualifying rounds of 18 holes, stroke play, the first sixteen to play off by match play (all matches 36 holes) on Monday (sth), Tuesday (6th), Wednesday (7th), and Thursday, Bth August. The other event is the men's foursomes amateur championship of Victoria, 36 holes, stroke play, on Friday, 9th August. Entries close at Melbourne on Wednesday, 17th July.
