RED CROSS ASSISTANCE
The Bed Cross Society states that clothing and boots are wanted in Nelson, and two large cases have already been sent. The. Anchor Shipping Co. and Master. Carriers' Association have undertaken the handling of the goods free of cost. -In addition to the clothing 'forwarded, the Eed Cross remitted the sum of £61 Id's; 6d to the committee in Nelson, to be spent on boots urgently required, or as the committee may otherwise think fit. Clothing which has been received at the depot is in particularly fine condition, and should prove most useful to the people 'for-whom-it is intended. Tho society is careful to send only serviceable articles.' Those having clothes to offer should leave them at the Bed Cross rooms, 63,' Dixon street, or, if the parcel is too large;' advise the secretary (telephone 22-574), when, arrangements will be made to have the goods collected. Such goods as are received will ■receive: prompt attention and immediate dispatch to the area whero they are required. ...
