SYDNEY, 20th June. In the amateur golf championship semi-finals, played to-day at Rose Bay links, Ivo .Whitton, of Victoria, beat S. Keane, 7 up and 5 to play; H. Morrison beat D. Coonan, 8 and 5. .. . Whitton played great golf and appeared to be invincible^ although Keane was distinctly -unlucky, narrowly .missing several long putts either for a win or a half. .Whitton was. never off the line, and his approaches were remarkable. The other* game was patchy and misputts were numerous, while Coonan was i always short with is approach putts.
