RETURNING HOME
KEAR-ADMIRAL NAPIER
Rear-Admiral W. E. Napier, ■ E.N., was a passenger by the B.M.S. Maunganui, which arrived in Wellington from Sydney this morning. Interviewed by a ''Post" reporter, Bear-Admiral Napier, said, '*' I am returning Home after being on loan.for,three years to Australia. I.am going on in tHe Bemuera on Saturday. I have, had a very good and very interesting time in Australia. The . Australian Govern-
merit, of course, has just got its new ships out—two cruisers, two submarines, an.d _an aeroplane-carrier, and they are now working .with your New Zealand ships in Harvey Bay. In addition to the new ships, the Australian Navy has two cruisers in reserve, three destroyers in commission, and nine destroyers in reserve.. I was stationed at tho Navy'• Office in Melbourne, the whole of'tho Defence Department being centred there now until they move eventually to Canberra. My wife and daughter came over here a fortnight ago to,see something of New Zealand before- leaving this side of the world, and t&ey, go. pa. with, me in the Eemuera.-^ .'■""'
