THE GROUNDS QUESTION
A meeting of the Management "Committee of the Wellington Rugby League was held last evening. It was decided that rr'-vr Stirlin X represent Wellington on the-Heir Zealand Eugby League Referees' Association.
The.grounds question was further discussed, and the secretary and treasurer were deputed to interview the Mayor, chairman of the Reserves Committee, and the Director of Parks and Reserves, and, failmg satisfactory results, to call a special meeting on Monday next to review the whole position. The secretary reported having interviewed the Mayor on numerous occasions, but-was unable to report any definite action having been taken. The result bo far had been a letter from the Towa Clerk which read: "With reference to your application for the use of a playing area in the city, I have to inform you that as all the available areas have been allocated for the present football season, the. council has decided to set aside a ground for the Rugby Football League whenever the same is available, and the Director of Parks is being instructed accordingly."
Mr. Duncan suggested that the secretary should write to the Otago Eugby League, with regard to a team being sent to Dunedin under the same conditions as were agreed Bpon two years ago. J- Amos was granted a transfer from Old Boys to Aldington. Mr. Davies spoke of the willing manner in which Amos, while in Wellington, had worked in the interests of his team, and expressed regret that the game in Wellington was losing his services.
