RIFLE SHOOTING
PATEA ASSOCIATION
The.annual meeting of the 1 Patea Rifle Association was held last Monday, and •proved..most successful, with over 100 marksmen .competing. The weather was fine, with scarcely any wind throughout the day. .Visibility^ was. good in the morning but itowards the late afternoon the background of sea,;*nd sky, a misty grey, did, not. afford much contrast to the whiteness of the.targets. Nevertheless, the shooting was 'of a very high order, and no less than six possibles were registered during the day, whilst sixteen competitors scored 34's. The championship was. won by Rflmn. A. G. Robert-?S?'-Brf Haw«;a, with the good total of iW, Knmn. D. Kenning, of Wanganui. being second with-fe'. The tyro ararregate was won by Rflmn. H. P. Dore of the Karori Rifle Club,' with a total of 97. The Champion Teams' Match was won by the Karori Rifle Club, the members of the team being Rflmn. T. H. R BoonM(captain), J. I.; King, HA*. Dore, a? d W. J. H. Haase. At the conclusion pi the shooting the Mayor" of Patea, Mr Ramsbottom, presented the trophies won by the successful competitors.
