A well-known and popular citizen of Hastings, Mr. John. H. Ballard, died at the Napier Hospital on Tuesday. Mr. Ballard, who was born in Hastings (England), came to New Zealand some fifteen years ago, settled in Hastings, and had lived there ever since. He was a prominent figure in -bowling circles, and was treasurer of the Kia' Toa Club in Hastingß. '
