J. Jephson, a waterside worker, living at 93, Owen street, had tho second finger of his left hand severed at the second joint through being caught in a sling rope while he was working alongside the Maunganui at Jervois Wharf this afternoon. He was taken to the Hospital by the City Ambulance.
