FORMING A MINISTRY

BUGBY, 4th June.

Mr, Baldwin, the Conservative Prime Minister, tendered the resignation' of his Government to the- King in His Majesty's bedroom at Windor Castle this morning. The King accepted the resignation. The audience lasted a little more than half ■an hour. : Early this afternoon Mr. Kamsay Mac Donald, the Labour leader, received a summons to see His Majesty. It is understood that Mr. Mac Donald will go to Windsor Castle to-morrow, it being thought inadvisable that the Kjng should bear the strain of a second interview to-day. Mr. Mac Donald will be prepared to accept the invitation to form a Ministry, and by the end of the week it is expected that a, Labour Government will bo installed for the second time in British history. Considerable progress, it is stated, has already, been made by Mr. Mac Donald -with tho selection of Labour Ministers. ■ ■' ■■ .

Mr. Baldwin will, continue to lead the Conservatives when they cross the floor of the House and become the official Opposition. • Although no arrangements have been made, it is anticipated that a party meeting will be held, before Parliament opens to. discuss the situation and^policy. ;

To-morrow a meeting of the Labour Party's National.Executive and the Parliamentary Labour Party will be held and important decisions are anticipated.
