RUGBY, 4th June.

It was announced at Windsor to-day that the King had passed a good night. Yesterday, his 64th birthday, he spent comfortably with considerable periods of restful sleep. Dr. Martyn visited him this morning before the Prime Minister arrived for his audience.

Among the thousands of telegrams containing birthday congratulations to the, King and wishing him spoedy recovery is one from President Hoover as follows:— -

To the prayers of your loving and loyal subjects for your speedy restoration to health permit me to add my own and those of my fellow countrymen, and may that undaunted courage which has before fortified you be sustained in your present ill-

An official statement, issued fronl Windsor Castle this morning stated that the King had had a good night.
