MISSED CONNECTION
(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening .Pott/)
AUCKLAND, TMs Day. The Niagara, outward-bound from Auckland 'to Vancouver, passing . the Marama inward-bound from Sydney off the Little Barrier late yesterday afternoon, was an unpleasant sight for four third-class passengers on the Marama. The unfortunate quartette consisted of Miss H. Eao and Mr. A. J. Stewart, both of Montreal, and Mr. and Mrs. J.'Woolfson, Americans. They had planned to tranship to the Niagara at Auckland, but the north-east • gale delayed the arrival of the Marama by twelve hours, and she did not arrive in the harbour until 7 o'clock, sis hours after the mail steamer had commenced her voyage to Vancouver. They will now have to wait four weeks for a vessel to Vancouver, or a fortnight for a steamer connection to San Francisco frpm Wellington.
