PUBLICITY ABROAD
ATTRACTING THE TOURIST

AUCKLAND, This Day. A deputation of the New Zealand Tourist League, introduced by the Hon. A. J. Stallworthy, interviewed Sir Joseph Ward, advocating increased publicity for the Tourist Department to bring New Zealand into such prominence as is obtained,by Canada, South Africa, and other countries.
. Sir Joseph promised to look into several matters mentioned under this heading. It was- his desire to make the Tourist Department as efficient as possible,. In recent years, it had suffered by considerations of finance, but he was hoping that fresh life would be icfused into its operations. He was leaving,for EQtorua.on,,Friday to :de-. cide upon the final recommendation for the improvements. He made it clear that it was intended to keep the Tourist Department entirely separate from any other Department.
