AERO CLUB'S FIRST BALL
a very interesting ; event was the first baU given by: the 'ifreUington Aero £ lub-., This took place last night at the. Adelphi Cabaret, and was a most successful function, there being quite" 3 crowded attendance of guests who had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The ball was arranged, at first, a3 a conclusion to the:"air pageant," which had, unfortunately to be postponed. However, there seemed to be no rdason why tiie dance should not proceed, if only <?L •tlI c PurP°se of making people 1 hlnk'air«y" ana take an interest in the prospects of air travelling from .and to Wellington.; Tie decorations m to already ornate dance hall and lounge partook of an "aerial" character, and consistedof dainty .little model planes of several-kinds,, the one on the central electrolier beftig reminiscent of the -"Southern Cross.^ Balloons were arranged in groups, or soared to the cealing, ana. pot plants were arranged tastefully in the lounge and about generally.. Some large parties were present. Among, the guests were "the Mayor and Mrs. Troup, the president ?5 the .dub, Mr. T. C.A. Hislop, and Mrs. Hislop (in black net, with coatee of metal brocade), Mr. ana Mrs. C A L. Treaawell, Mr. and Mrs. Holmwood, Mrs, H.K lr kcaldie;(in black ana goia), r: ana Mrs. Hutchison, J3r. land Mrs. Shirer, Dr. Twhigg, Mr. ana Mrs. Hill, Miss Lowrie, Mr. and Mrs. Kell, Miss M. Bennie (m gold), Miss Edna-Haw-Inns (m blue), Miss Mason (pale pink).
