Although University won decisively from Old Boys at Kelburn Park, the match provided some fast and interesting play. The University backs were seen in some sparkling dashes, and the team as a whole combined well. Early in the game Whitcombe made an opening from which Airey scored. There was no conversion. A little later the University backs got under way, and a pretty bout of passing ended in Dickinson scoring a try, which was not converted.
