SIE WILLIAM BEERY. Lard Berry is a brother of Sir James Gomer Berry, Bart., and both of them are prominent newspaper proprietors. The new Baron is chairman of Allied Newspapers, Ltd., Financial Times, Ltd., and other important English newspaper properties. He is 49 years old, and is the second son of the late Alderman J. M. Berry, of Merthyr ■ Tydfil, in
Wales.. Allied Newspapers, in which he and his brothers are the principal figures, acquired the London "Daily Telegraph" in January of last year.
