MINERS ON STRIKE
SOUTHERN N.S.W.' COALFIELD
United Pres3 Association—By Electric Tele. eraph—Copyright. (Eeceived 3rd June, 1 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. A strike at two of the Southern coalmines rendered idle seven hundred men. At Scarborough the. stoppage was due to the manager's refusal of the miners' request to reinstate a man who had walked off the job, while at Dapto the trouble arose out of the miners' refusal to work an extra night shift. The result of these strikes will be serious for the Northern colliery men, for whom the miners at work are levied 12$ per cent, of their wages.-
