BALDWIN MUST RESIGN
United SerYico.
LONDON, 2nd June. Only one newspaper in the whole country appears to be satisfied with
the result of the General Election, that is Labour's "Daily Herald.". Even it is sorry that Mr. Mac Donald lacks a few more henchmen in order to have real power. ."Mr. Baldwin's duty," says the "Daily Herald," "is to resign in order that Mr. Mac Donald, the people's chosen leader, lay take up the work which capitalist intrigue brought to a temporary end in 1924. Behind the scenes attempts will doubtless be made to deprive Labour of its heritage, but as far as Labour is concerned it will go steadily on in the sure knowledge that at no distant date the banners of Socialism will be carried to that final victory of which the present triumph is only an interlude."
