The New Zealand University athletes to-day took part in a ten-event challenge match against a New South Wales combination, at North Bridge. The ground was heavy, owing to a day's rain. The 120 yards hurdles was won by F. S. Ransom (New Zealand) from O'Brien (New* South Wales). Time, 16. 3-ssee. Won easily. 100 yards sprint: J. N. Goodson (New Zealand) won from O'Loughlin (New South Wales). Time, 10 4-ssec. 880 Yards: J. H. Webber (New Zealand). 1; Harley (New Zealand), 2; Bain,; (New Zealand), 3. Time, 2min 3see. Sixteen-pound shot putt: Plummer (New South Wales), 38ft lOin, 1; Henderson (New Zealand), 35ft 9in, 2. Broad jump: Mason (New South Wales), 20ft l}in, 1; F.. S.
