ROAD CYCLING

NINETEEN MILES' RACE,

Twenty-six started in the road race held fay the Port Nicholson Amateur Road Cycling Club on Saturday afternoon. The handicaps were for a twenty miles race, biit the actual distance covered was nineteen miles. D. Evans, who started from this s%min mark, .was the winner, and G. Stiweley (smin) secured fastest time honours. Results in detail are as follow:— Dj Evans (s%min) .. 1 E. JFawcett (7%min) 2 L. Everett (7%min) 3 Fastest times: G. Staveley (smin), 47 mm 58 4-ssec; S. Wright (smin), 47min 59 sec; J. Foote (3%min), 48min 23sec. The scratch man, W. Bray, for changing machines during the race, was disqualified.
