MAGISTRATE'S COURT

To-day's sitting of the Magistrate's Court was presided over by Messrs. I. Salek and A. Longmore, J.IVs. One first-offending inebriate, who did not appear, was fined the amount of his bail, 10s. Two second offenders for drunkenness, L'om Dustin, aged 53, end Michael James Johnston, aged 43, were each fined 10s, in default twenty-four hours' imprisonment. Harry Thomas Belts, aged 30, said lie liad nothing to say to a charge of using obscene language and resisting Constable Grove. On the first charge Betts was sentenced to one month's imprisonment, and on the second was convicted and dis- . charged.
