SEATOUN'S BIG WIN. . Scatoun absolutely over-ran Lower Hutt in the game played on the latter's ground, winning.by the substantial margin of seven goals to one, although perhapß there was not quite such a difference between. the two teams as the score would indicate. The teams were as follow. — Lower Hutt: Butlaml; Cordiner, Gardner; M'Dougall, T. Chapman, R. Chapman; Nicolle, Lowry, M'Phee, Grundwell, Batchelor. ' Seatoun: Parkin; Newton, Dufh'U; Jen-: kins, Kershaw, Murrie; N. Grimstone, Telford, M'Keen, Mackenzie, Hamilton. From the outset Seatoun, playing under j conditions ideal for good football, demonstrated the value of team work as opposed to individual effort. After M'Keen and Kershaw had each scored for Seatoun, | Crundwell for Lower Hutt managed to find the net. But M'Keen again' scored, and ends were changed with Seatoun leading by three goals to one. In the second spell Lower Hutt had their aggressive moments; the two, wing-forwards worked hard, but the shooting of the iusides and centre was appalling. One of the features of the second spell was the way in which the Seatonu forward line time and again swept down the field, beating the.LoweV Hutt defence as if it did not exist, and providing a pretty example of combination that was a treat to watch. As the.result of these raids four more goals were added to Seatoun's tally, making seven in all, one being'from a penalty awarded when a goal otherwise was practically certain. It was not the fault of Biitland, the Lower Hutt goalkeeper, that the score was so large: he saved many a hot shot in great style, and had small chance with those that he did let through. The Lower Hutt defence worked hard throughout, but were outplayed, the team's great Weakness being at centre forward and in a general lack of combination and ability to make use of opportunities in the goal's mouth. Mr. J. Sanderson was referee.
