The General Council: of the Trades Unions Congress yesterday considered a resolution on. industrial consultation, and co-operation adopted at the conference : between representatives of the. council and of two, leading organisations of employers. The resolution called for a Joint Committee .to consider the best methods for effecting this consultation and co-oporation and as a first step the Trades Union Counoil has asked its Industrial Committee to present's, full report at a meeting to bo held in May, 1 when decisions for'carrying'out. the resolution may be taken. Similarly the resolution mnsfc be referred back to tho .employers' organisations represented at tho Joint Conference before,action can be taken,as representatives . at the conference did not possess plenary powers which, rest with tho National Confederation of Employers' Organisations and th« Federation of British Industries. It is, however, accepted that a favourable atmosphere ha's been created and the resolution means all that it implies.
