THROUGH THE NOSE.
A New Zealander was touring America for the first time, -and when ho arrived at New York a boastful Yankio buttoned to him and was showing him all the wonders of that city and boasting of the buildings, etc., much to the visitor's displeasure. One day the Yankio pointed to a statue of George Washington. "There's a fine man," he began. "A lie never passed his lips." "I suppose not," answered the New Zealander drily, "most likely he spoke through his nose like the rest of you,"
